Azul to Resume Direct Flights Between Porto Alegre and Montevideo in 2026

Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras announced that it will restart a direct service linking Porto Alegre, Brazil, with Montevideo, Uruguay, beginning on 14 December 2026. The route will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays, using Embraer E195‑E2 aircraft configured with 136 seats and individual in‑flight entertainment. Ticket sales are scheduled to open on 13 August 2026 through Azul’s official channels and travel agencies.

In addition to the Montevideo connection, Azul will offer direct flights to Punta del Este during the summer season, reinforcing Uruguay as a key leisure destination for travelers from Rio Grande do Sul and other parts of Brazil. The airline expects the new route to boost passenger traffic between the two neighboring countries.
