Azura Foundation expands rural education investments in Morocco for 2025‑2026

Azura Foundation is continuing its commitment to rural education and development in Morocco during the 2025‑2026 season. The NGO launched and completed a series of educational and social projects across several provinces, partnering with roughly fifteen public, private and civil‑society actors.

Key initiatives include the expansion of the Al‑Mukhtar Al‑Sousi primary school in Dakhla, now serving more than 800 pupils; the reconstruction of the Anmar school in Al‑Hawz, rebuilt after the September 2023 earthquake with an investment of one million dirhams; and a comprehensive refurbishment of the Sidi Ribat school in Issiouka Ait Baha, raising its capacity by 50 % through new classrooms, sports facilities, accessible amenities for disabled persons and renovated staff housing. Additionally, the foundation opened its first model collective kindergarten in Ait Ali, in cooperation with the National Initiative for Human Development and the National Cooperation Foundation, to enhance early‑childhood care in rural areas.

These projects aim to improve schooling conditions, broaden access to education, support early‑childhood development and promote sustainable development opportunities for children and families in Morocco’s rural communities.
