Azure API Management introduces zonal redundancy for Standard v2

Azure API Management has introduced zonal redundancy for its Standard v2 tier. This update allows customers to distribute API gateway resources across multiple Availability Zones within a supported region. By utilizing physically separate locations with independent power, cooling, and networking, the service aims to increase resilience against datacenter-level disruptions and ensure higher availability for critical API workloads.

Separately, the role of API performance in data intelligence platforms is being highlighted. For these platforms, APIs serve as the primary delivery path for information. High performance—characterized by low latency, resilient infrastructure, and efficient data transfer—is essential to prevent APIs from becoming bottlenecks or security vulnerabilities as traffic scales.
