Azzedine Ounahi undergoes successful surgery in Paris

Panathinaikos midfielder Azzedine Ounahi has successfully undergone surgery to repair a complete rupture of the tendon in his right biceps femoris muscle. The procedure took place in Paris on October 29, 2026, following an injury sustained during a match against Astera AKTOR.

The surgical team included Panathinaikos team doctor Haris Lalos, renowned orthopaedic surgeon Nicolas Lefèvre, and Christophe Baudot, who serves as the doctor for the Moroccan national team and a medical consultant for Paris Saint-Germain.

Ounahi is expected to be sidelined for four to five months, with a projected return to action between late February and late March 2027. He is scheduled to begin a specialized rehabilitation program starting October 30. Following the surgery, Moroccan national team player Achraf Hakimi visited Ounahi in the hospital to offer support.
