B. B. King estate announces new feature-length documentary

The B. B. King Music Company and the Estate of B. B. King have announced the development of a new feature-length documentary celebrating the life and legacy of the blues legend. The film will explore his journey from the Mississippi Delta to his rise as an international star, examining his profound influence on blues, rock, soul, jazz, and popular music.

Directed by Leslie Small, the project will have access to the estate’s archives, historical knowledge, and resources to ensure authenticity. Grammy-winning producer Vassal Benford will serve as executive producer, working alongside Hamid Torabpour and Camille Torabpour of Winter State Entertainment. Details regarding production, distribution, and the official release date are yet to be announced.
