B2B marketplaces and digital tools drive efficiency for small businesses

Small businesses in Brazil are increasingly integrating digital technologies into their operations, though technical knowledge gaps remain a challenge. According to Sebrae data from June 2026, Brazil has approximately 24 million active small businesses, which account for about 95% of all functioning companies. While 94% of surveyed entrepreneurs use the internet and 75% use computers, making informed decisions regarding hardware, such as label printers, remains difficult due to complexities in technology, resolution, and supply compatibility.

Simultaneously, the adoption of B2B marketplaces is transforming corporate procurement. These platforms centralize suppliers, negotiations, and data, helping companies manage supply chain risks through diversification. According to Smarkets CEO Mônica Granzo, procurement is becoming a strategic activity where visibility into indicators allows for faster market responses. Automation via these marketplaces can reportedly reduce service level agreement (SLA) response times by up to 90% and automate approximately 80% of self-service demands, allowing professionals to focus on planning and analysis.
