Ba Đình Revolutionary Base Restoration Near Completion in Thanh Hóa
The Ba Đình revolutionary base in Ba Đình commune, Thanh Hóa province – a historic site of the late‑19th‑century Cần Vương movement – is slated for handover before August. The preservation project, approved in 2022, involves a total investment of over VND 95 billion to restore a 1.6‑hectare area, including a shrine to the base leaders, stone statues, gun emplacements, and supporting infrastructure.
Construction, undertaken by CP Bảo tồn di sản văn hóa kiến trúc Việt, has reached 99 % of the planned work despite hot weather and limited material supplies. Project chief Mai Ngọc Hào noted that the contractor has addressed remaining minor details and cleaning to meet the schedule. Worker Ly Văn Hội reported ongoing efforts to finish ornamental carvings and restore large stone reliefs depicting the fighters.
The completed heritage complex will feature reconstructed trench systems, decorative gates, and two cast‑iron artillery pieces, preserving the cultural memory of the anti‑colonial resistance for future generations.
