Baťa Skyscraper sees drop in vandalism following new security measures

New security measures, including the installation of cameras and security frames, have significantly reduced vandalism and public disturbances at the historic Baťa Skyscraper in Zlín. The landmark, which houses the regional and tax offices, previously suffered annual damages exceeding 100,000 CZK due to broken equipment, damaged furniture, and vandalism to its unique 'paternoster' elevator.

Jitka Hlavačková, director of the Zlín Regional Office, noted that while the primary goal was to increase safety for employees and the public, the measures have also successfully deterred vandals and individuals causing disorder. Additionally, officials reported a decrease in issues related to unauthorized presence in the building.
