BAAC board orders investigation into manager following union complaints
The Board of Directors of the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) has approved an investigation into the performance of its current manager, Mr. Chatchai Sirilai. This decision follows eight formal complaints submitted by the BAAC State Enterprise Labor Union.
Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, acting as Chairman of the BAAC Board, stated that an audit committee led by Ms. Wirekha Santapan, a representative from the Bank of Thailand, will conduct the inquiry. The committee has been given a 30-day deadline to report its findings to the board.
Mr. Chatchai did not attend the meeting, a move intended to ensure transparency and fairness during the process. The board emphasized that the investigation will follow all official regulations to maintain public trust and ensure the bank continues to fulfill its mission of supporting farmers and employees.
