Başakşehir hosts BAKMER Women and Family Festival

The BAKMER Women and Family Festival has commenced at the Başakşehir Millet Bahçesi, organized by the Başakşehir Municipality. Running until September 12, the event aims to bring together women, family, culture, and art as part of the ‘Family and Population 10-Year’ initiative.

The festival features 23 different stalls showcasing handmade products such as knitting, embroidery, woodwork, ceramics, jewelry design, gastronomy, painting, and ebru art. The program includes daily workshops starting at 18:00, evening talks at 20:30, and stage performances for children. Competitions in knitting, painting, and cooking are also scheduled, with the cooking grand final taking place on September 12. A mini concert by Onur Basri Aksu is set for the evening of September 9.

Local instructors noted that the BAKMER courses provide nine-month training programs that allow women to earn additional income by selling their creations through dedicated BAKMER stores.
