Baba Ramdev claims Indian Muslims are descendants of converts

Yoga guru Baba Ramdev stated in Mathura that all Muslims in India are converts and should recognize Lord Ram and Lord Krishna as their ancestors to foster unity and strength. He argued that while religious practices may have changed over time, the biological and cultural roots of the community remain tied to India’s ancient traditions.

These remarks followed comments by AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi regarding the political agency of the Muslim community. Ramdev suggested that connecting with these ancestral roots would prevent the community from feeling weak and contribute to national growth.

In Haridwar, various religious figures and political leaders expressed support for these views. Mahamandaleshwar Karoli Shankar Mahadev and BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj both asserted that the Muslim population in the subcontinent originated from Hindu society, with conversions occurring due to historical pressures or circumstances.
