Baba restaurant to open in Toronto's Lawrence Park

Baba, a new dining establishment, is set to open this August at 3204 Yonge Street in Toronto’s Lawrence Park neighbourhood. Located near the intersection of Yonge Street and Woburn Avenue, the venue is designed to function as a café during the day and transition into a lively snack bar at night.

The restaurant marks the first independent hospitality venture for Michael Medeiros and Kevin Chen. The two longtime colleagues previously worked together at One Hazelton and have built careers throughout the Toronto hospitality industry. Medeiros will manage kitchen and back-of-house operations, while Chen will oversee the front-of-house experience.

The name ‘Baba’, meaning ‘father’, serves as an homage to the mentors and father figures who influenced the founders' careers. The concept aims to provide a warm, familiar atmosphere suitable for weekday coffee, brunch, or late-night drinks and snacks.
