Babar Azam Passes 4,500 Test Runs Milestone for Pakistan
Pakistan captain Babar Azam became the tenth Pakistani batter to surpass 4,500 runs in Test cricket, reaching 4,504 runs during the opening Test against the West Indies at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba. The achievement came in his 63rd Test (115 innings) and moved his career average to 42.49.
Azam, playing his 21st Test as captain, has amassed 31 half‑centuries but has not recorded a century since December 2022, his last of nine Test hundreds. In the recent innings he added 23 runs before being dismissed by Jayden Seales, a partnership of 41 with Shan Masood that left Pakistan at 197/3.
His statistics show a strong home record (1,766 runs at 50.45) compared with a modest away figure (2,211 runs at 38.12). The new milestone highlights his consistency despite the ongoing century drought.
