Babashka scripting runtime sees continuous updates and ecosystem growth
Babashka, a scripting runtime for Clojure, has seen continuous development through late 2022 and early 2023. Recent updates include version 1.0.170 through 1.0.173, which introduced support for data_readers, a built-in http-client library, and improved compatibility with clojure.tools.namespace and clojure.java.classpath.
The ecosystem has expanded with various new libraries and projects, such as bb-dialog for working with dialogs, asdf-babashka for version management, and quickblogv0.1.0, a lightweight static blog engine. Community engagement has also been highlighted through workshops, such as the Babashka Workshop at ClojureStream, and various technical analyses regarding how GraalVM facilitates a fast-starting scripting environment for Clojure.
