Babcock named key sponsor of inaugural Hampshire Air Festival
Babcock International Group has been confirmed as the key sponsor for the first Hampshire Air Festival, which will be held at Thruxton Aerodrome on 12–13 September. The two‑day family‑focused airshow will feature a full flying programme, including the RAF Tutor Display Team, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight aircraft, a MiG‑17 from Poland, a drone display and evening fireworks.
Babcock’s involvement extends beyond sponsorship. The company supports the Royal Air Force’s elementary flying training through its ownership and maintenance of the Grob 115E Tutor fleet, and it partners with the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, providing pilots and engineering support. The air‑ambulance, recently relocated to Southampton Airport, will return to its former Thruxton base as part of the ground display. Babcock will also host aviation‑themed and STEM‑related activities for families and young people during the festival.
