Baby Gang's prison sentence reduced on appeal
Italian rapper Zaccaria Mouhib, known professionally as Baby Gang, has had his prison sentence reduced on appeal. An appeals court in Milan sentenced the 25-year-old to one year and six months of imprisonment, a significant reduction from the two years and eight months imposed during his first trial.
The conviction stems from an incident on September 11 last year, when authorities discovered a semi-automatic pistol with a filed-off serial number in a Milan hotel room where Mouhib was staying. The court granted generic mitigating circumstances, leading to the reduced sentence.
The investigation into the weapon originated from a broader probe by the Lecco prosecutor's office into arms and drug trafficking. While this specific case concludes with the appeal, Mouhib faces additional legal challenges stemming from the Lecco investigation, including allegations of domestic abuse.
