Babylon Berlin final season to premiere on ARD in September 2026
The German public broadcaster ARD announced that the fifth and final season of the series Babylon Berlin will be released in September 2026. The eight episodes will become available on the ARD Mediathek from 10 September, with linear‑TV broadcasts scheduled for 19 September at 20:15 and 25 September at 22:20, four episodes each night.
The season, based on Volker Kutscher’s novel Märzgefallene, is set in February 1933 during the Nazi rise to power. Main characters Gereon Rath and Charlotte Ritter return, played by Volker Bruch and Liv Lisa Fries. Supporting cast includes Benno Fürmann, Lars Eidinger, Hannah Herzsprung and Christian Friedel. The scripts are by Henk Handloegten, Achim von Borries and Tom Tykwer, and production of the eight episodes began in October 2024.
