Babylonian Twins: 1993 Iraqi Amiga game released for free

The unreleased 1993 Amiga game ‘Babylonian Twins’, originally developed in Baghdad, Iraq, has been released for free to the public. Created by Rabah Shihab, Murtadha Salman, and Mahir AlSalman, the platformer was developed under extreme conditions, including international sanctions, frequent electricity blackouts, and extreme summer heat that damaged hardware.

Developed using pure 68000 assembly on an Amiga 500 with only 512KB of RAM, the game featured hand-drawn art and music inspired by ancient Mesopotamia. Although completed in 1993, the project remained unreleased due to the collapse of Commodore and the inability to find publishers amidst geopolitical sanctions.

Following a community effort to locate the developers that began in 2008, the original two-disk experience is now available as a free download for use on modern emulators or original hardware.
