Bac Ninh authorities fine businesses over unlicensed waterway ports

Authorities in Bac Ninh Province have issued administrative fines to several individuals and businesses regarding illegal inland waterway port operations. One individual was fined 32.5 million VND for organizing cargo unloading at an unlicensed location, while Hoan Chinh Construction Materials Production and Trading Co., Ltd. was ordered to cease operations due to continued violations.

A recurring issue involves the inability of businesses to renew or obtain inland waterway port licenses. Companies, including Dai Loc Co., Ltd. and Nam Thanh Trading and Service Co., Ltd., report that while their sites align with planning, they cannot secure permits because a 10-meter strip of land along the riverbank is designated as a flood control corridor under local management.
