Bac Ninh building collapses during demolition

A multi-story building collapsed in Long Vy, Tu Son Ward, Bac Ninh province, on the evening of August 25. The structure was being demolished by the owner to clear land for a road project connecting Gia Binh Airport to Hanoi.

No injuries were reported as no one was inside the building at the time of the collapse. However, the incident occurred while vehicles were passing on the adjacent road, narrowly avoiding being crushed, and several trees in front of the building were also knocked down.

Dam The Su, Chairman of the Tu Son Ward People's Committee, stated that an official cause for the collapse has not yet been determined. Local authorities are currently investigating whether the incident was caused by negligence during the demolition process or if previous partial dismantling contributed to the failure.
