Bac Ninh man accused of 2 billion VND hair trade fraud

Police in Bac Ninh province have identified Duong Quang Thang as a suspect in a fraud case involving the theft of over 2 billion VND from an Indian national. The victim, SK Saphiruddi, had agreed to sell more than 115kg of hair for a total value exceeding 2 billion VND.

According to investigators, Thang received a portion of the payment in cash but used forged bank transaction images to deceive the seller into believing the remaining balance had been successfully transferred. The fraud was discovered when the funds failed to appear in the recipient's account.

Authorities seized four boxes of hair, mobile phones, and documents related to the fake transactions. The Bac Ninh Provincial Police Investigation Agency has determined that Thang's actions show signs of the crime of “fraudulent appropriation of property.”
