Bac Ninh officials penalize students for exam misconduct

The Bac Ninh Department of Education and Training has taken disciplinary action following an investigation into misconduct during the 2026 high school graduation exam at Luong Tai High School.

Authorities determined that H. P. N., who was identified as the province's D01 combination valedictorian (Mathematics, Literature, and English), received unauthorized assistance from an exam proctor during the Mathematics portion of the exam. Consequently, the department canceled H. P. N.'s graduation exam results on August 25.

Additionally, another student, N. T. T. N., who was seated near H. P. N., was found to have copied the Mathematics answers from the valedictorian. Following consultation with the Ministry of Education and Training, officials reduced N. T. T. N.'s Mathematics score by 50%, dropping the grade from 9.5 to 4.75. Authorities are also determining appropriate measures for the exam proctor involved in the incident.
