Bac Ninh police dismantle foreign‑run online fraud hub in Vietnam
The Bac Ninh provincial police carried out surprise inspections at two lodging sites in the province, uncovering a network of 37 foreign nationals engaged in large‑scale online fraud. At a house in the Him Lam urban area, officers found 20 foreigners, including four who had entered Vietnam illegally, using a suite of computers and phones to run counterfeit e‑commerce platforms that targeted victims in China. A second location on Nguyen Quyen street yielded 17 more foreigners operating similar equipment for romance‑scam schemes, online gambling brokerage and the distribution of illicit pornographic material aimed at victims in Japan, South Korea, France, Turkey and other countries.
Authorities seized hundreds of electronic devices, imposed administrative fines, began deportation procedures for the violators and forwarded the case files to foreign law‑enforcement agencies for further action. Since the start of 2026, the province’s immigration‑control unit has handled ten related cases involving roughly 150 foreign individuals.
