Vietnam reports multiple fatal traffic accidents and law enforcement actions
Vietnam has seen a series of significant traffic-related incidents and law enforcement actions. Fatalities occurred in several accidents, including a collision between a truck and a motorbike in Dong Nai that killed a woman and two children, a bus fire on the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway resulting in one death, and a car plunging into a ditch in Hai Phong causing two deaths. Other accidents involved a passenger bus colliding with a tractor-trailer on the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway, killing a bus assistant.
Law enforcement has also been active in addressing various violations. In Hanoi, a man was caught attempting to discard heroin from his mouth during a breathalyzer test. In Da Nang, police seized 289 bottles of laughing gas from a driver. In Quang Ninh, authorities intercepted a passenger bus carrying over 2,600 poultry of unknown origin. Other enforcement actions included fining drivers for unsafe following distances on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway, improper overtaking in Tuyen Quang, and drunk driving in Gia Lai, where a driver was fined and lost their license for 23 months. Additionally, construction of a weigh station under the Thang Long Bridge has caused significant dust pollution, impacting local commuters.
