Bac Ninh villa relocated 400m to avoid demolition
A four-story villa in Thuan Thanh Ward, Bac Ninh City, has been successfully relocated to a new site approximately 400 meters from its original location. The massive structure, weighing hundreds of tons, was moved intact using a specialized roller system and hydraulic equipment to avoid demolition.
The relocation was necessary because the property was slated for clearance to accommodate a road project connecting Gia Binh Airport with Hanoi. The villa features a total floor area of nearly 970 square meters across four levels.
The complex engineering operation took nearly a month to complete. Specialized engineers and skilled workers utilized a step-by-step process of lifting, jacking, and shifting the reinforced concrete structure to ensure its integrity remained intact throughout the journey.
