Bach Mai Hospital and Nam Dinh Nursing University to merge

Bach Mai Hospital and Nam Dinh Nursing University are preparing to merge to establish the Bach Mai University of Medicine and Pharmacy. A joint working group has been formed to develop a merger proposal, which is expected to be completed in September for submission to the Ministry of Health.

Authorities have emphasized the need to protect the rights of more than 4,000 current students at Nam Dinh Nursing University. Key priorities include maintaining academic stability, ensuring the validity of degrees, and establishing appropriate tuition fee roadmaps. The merger aims to combine the resources of a specialized nursing institution with the capabilities of Bach Mai Hospital, a special-grade general hospital, to expand training programs and enhance educational quality.
