Bach Mai Hospital receives top WSO stroke certification

Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi has become the first healthcare facility in Vietnam to earn the ‘Advanced Stroke Centre’ certification from the World Stroke Organization (WSO). The accreditation, which is the highest level in the WSO’s specialized center system, was presented during the XVIII World Stroke Congress in Seoul, South Korea.

To achieve this status, the hospital had to meet rigorous standards, including 37 mandatory and 31 recommended criteria. The evaluation covered the entire stroke care process, including infrastructure, specialized personnel, 24-hour emergency services, reperfusion treatments, intensive care, and rehabilitation. The certification is valid from July 20, 2025, to July 19, 2028.
