Bach Mai Hospital treats man after private clinic joint injection
Doctors at the Bach Mai Hospital Ninh Binh facility have successfully treated a male patient suffering from knee swelling, pain, and leg edema following a joint injection performed at a private clinic.
To address the complications, specialists from the Musculoskeletal Department performed an arthroscopic knee lavage. This procedure allowed doctors to directly observe the interior of the joint via an endoscopy system to clean the area and perform necessary medical interventions. The surgery was conducted under the professional guidance of Associate Professor Nguyen Van Hung, Director of the Institute of Musculoskeletal Diseases.
Medical professionals are advising the public to avoid undergoing intra-articular injections at unlicensed facilities or at locations lacking sufficient professional qualifications. They emphasize that such procedures must be prescribed by a doctor and performed by qualified medical staff at accredited institutions. Patients are urged to seek immediate medical attention if they experience increased pain, heat, swelling, or limited mobility following an injection.
