Back to the Future Musical launches on Royal Caribbean ship and UK tour

Royal Caribbean International has mounted a condensed version of Back to the Future: The Musical on its Star of the Seas cruise ship. The production uses the original creative team, includes the iconic DeLorean on stage, and features cast members from earlier UK runs. Co‑writer Bob Gale, creator of the original film, was directly involved in editing the show for the cruise‑ship format.

The musical is also beginning a UK theatre tour, opening at the Bristol Hippodrome. In an interview, Gale discussed the challenges of adapting the story for live performance, the addition of new songs, and his enthusiasm for seeing the show reach new audiences on both sea and land.
