Backrooms: Extended Edition Arrives in Italian Cinemas

The horror film Backrooms, directed by 22‑year‑old Kane Parsons, will be released in Italy in an expanded version titled Backrooms: Everything Must Go Edition. The new cut adds a 16‑minute sequence, including an exclusive post‑credits scene, bringing the runtime to two hours and six minutes. The film, which stars Chiwetel Ejiofor and Renate Reinsve, has already earned $330 million worldwide—including $4.7 million in Italy—on a $10 million budget. After its U.S. and U.K. releases, the extended edition is scheduled for Italian cinemas, with the exact date still to be announced. Parsons has addressed fan skepticism on Discord and recently criticised the use of artificial intelligence in filmmaking. A vinyl edition of the soundtrack has also been announced.
