Backrooms horror film moves to digital rental and new Blu‑ray editions

Kane Parsons’ “Backrooms” – A24’s highest‑grossing movie – has left theaters and is now available for digital purchase or rental on platforms such as Apple TV and Prime Video, announced on 14 July 2026. The release follows a 45‑day exclusive theatrical run that earned more than $330 million worldwide and set a record for the studio.

A24 also revealed that 4K UHD and standard Blu‑ray editions will ship in late August. Both formats include nearly three hours of bonus material, notably the 16‑minute “Everything Must Go” extended cut shown in select cinemas, VFX breakdowns, a prop walkthrough and other featurettes. Pre‑orders are open exclusively through the A24 Shop, with the 4K version priced at $35 and the standard Blu‑ray at $30.

Additional content will be released for free on YouTube, featuring the extra scene from the extended cut. The film’s digital debut and physical‑media releases round out its multi‑platform rollout, giving fans multiple ways to experience the liminal‑horror franchise.
