Backrooms horror film streams in Brazil, 4K Blu‑ray edition announced

The internet‑originated horror film *Backrooms* began streaming in Brazil on 16 July 2026. The movie, directed by Kane Parsons and starring Chiwetel Ejiofor and Renate Reinsve, is offered for rent or purchase on Prime Video, Google Play, YouTube and Vivo Play through the SOFA DGTL aggregator, which distributes premium content across more than 30 Latin‑American platforms.

A24 has also confirmed physical releases of the film in 4K UHD and Blu‑ray formats. Pre‑orders are open on the studio’s website, with shipments slated for late August. The 4K edition is priced at $35 and the standard Blu‑ray at $30, with a $10 discount for AAA24 subscribers. Both editions include nearly three hours of bonus material: the extra scene “Everything Must Go,” director and crew commentary, a making‑of documentary, VFX deep‑dives, prop walkthroughs and six collectible postcards. The film has earned $331 million worldwide from a $10 million budget, cementing its status as a breakout horror success.
