The horror movie "Backrooms", directed by 19‑year‑old Kane Parsons, became A24’s highest‑grossing release, earning over $330 million worldwide on a $10 million budget, including an $81 million U.S. opening weekend that made it the top‑grossing film globally, and making Parsons the youngest director of a worldwide No. 1 box‑office film.
A24 announced an extended cut titled “Backrooms: Liquidación total,” adding 16 minutes of new footage. The 126‑minute version will open in U.S. theatres later and debut in Spain on 10 July, featuring a scene with the Async Research Institute exploring the backrooms.
