Backrooms extended version premieres in Brazil, Chile and Peru on July 23, 2026

The horror film "Backrooms" returns to cinemas across Latin America on 23 July 2026 in an extended cut that adds roughly 15‑16 minutes of previously unseen material. The version, directed by Kane Parsons and produced by A24, expands the story of Clark (Chiwetel Ejiofor) who discovers a portal to an endless labyrinth of empty rooms. In Brazil the film is released as "Backrooms: Um Não‑Lugar", in Chile as "Backrooms: Sin Salida" and in Peru as "Backrooms: Versión extendida". All editions feature the same cast, including Renate Reinsve, Mark Duplass, Finn Bennett and Lukita Maxwell, and retain the original premise of a liminal‑terror experience that originated from an internet creepypasta.

Since its original debut, the movie became A24’s biggest horror opening and the most‑watched independent title of 2026, drawing hundreds of thousands of tickets in each market.
