Backstreet Boys sell 450,000 tickets for Düsseldorf residency
The Backstreet Boys are conducting an exclusive residency in Düsseldorf, Germany, marking their only European performances for 2026. The residency at the Merkur Spiel-Arena, which is scheduled to conclude on October 7, 2026, has seen massive demand, with Live Nation reporting that over 450,000 tickets have been sold across ten scheduled concerts.
In recognition of the event, Düsseldorf Mayor Stephan Keller welcomed the band members—A.J. McLean, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson, and Nick Carter—to the city hall, where they were entered into the city’s Golden Book. The residency has provided a significant boost to local tourism, with approximately 94 percent of available hotel capacity booked around the concert dates.
Despite the commercial success and official celebrations, some fans experienced difficulties at the venue. Reports indicated ticket entry issues for attendees, specifically regarding QR codes that would not open on smartphones, with some complications linked to tickets purchased via third-party platforms.
