Bacolod City celebrates MassKara Festival with mask and costume displays

Bacolod City is celebrating the MassKara Festival under the theme ‘Share the Smile. Celebrate Gugma,’ a cultural event highlighting the resilience and community spirit of the Bacolodnon people.

As part of the festivities, eight barangay contingents—Bata, Alangilan, 10, Handumanan, 13, 6, Taculing, and Mandalagan—are participating in a Mask and Costume Display at Robinsons Bacolod. The exhibition showcases the intricate craftsmanship, distinct designs, and artistic visions behind the festival’s iconic smiling masks and vibrant costumes.

The festival serves as a significant driver for local commerce, with increased activity reported among culinary institutions, pop-up food kiosks, and small business owners. Major celebrations are centered around the Bacolod City Government Center, the Public Plaza, and the Lacson Tourism Strip.
