Bacolod Film Festival to feature ten local cinematic works

The 3rd Bacolod Film Festival is scheduled to run from November 27 to 29, 2026, featuring ten local cinematic works. Under the leadership of Festival Director Tanya P. Lopez, public screenings will be held at SM Bacolod, Ayala Malls Capitol Central, and the FDCP Cinematheque Centre Negros.

Among the selected filmmakers is Reginald Amador Zack Verzosa, who returns to the festival with his new feature, ‘Tukturuok.’ The film is described as a blend of family drama, folklore, and dark comedy, utilizing Hiligaynon dialogue and English action lines to tell a story of a father’s extreme measures to save his child. The narrative incorporates elements of local culinary traditions and mythic themes.

Verzosa, a University of St. La Salle Communication graduate, has a history of recognition in the regional indie scene. His previous work includes ‘Glub,’ which received a Best Director nomination at the 2024 Bacolod Film Festival, as well as ‘Añoranza’ and ‘Ritmo,’ which were finalists in the Sine Negrense Open Category.
