Bad Bleiberg kindergarten investigations find no evidence of misconduct
Authorities in Bad Bleiberg have concluded investigations into serious anonymous allegations made against the local kindergarten. Two separate anonymous letters were received, one in April and another in August, containing claims that children were being forced to eat and sleep, denied sunscreen, and subjected to humiliation.
Mayor Christian Hecher engaged the Carinthia State Government's Department 6 to conduct a professional review. The investigation included interviews with those involved and the use of a standardized observation instrument to assess pedagogical practices. The findings concluded that the allegations could not be confirmed or observed.
Despite the exoneration, the municipality briefly closed the kindergarten two days early before the scheduled holidays to alleviate pressure on the staff. To support the team moving forward, an external process facilitator has been brought in to strengthen cooperation and professional development within the staff.
