Bad Bunny wins first Emmy for historic Super Bowl LX halftime show

Bad Bunny has won his first Emmy Award for his performance in the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show. During the Creative Arts Emmy Awards held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, the production, titled ‘The Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show Starring Bad Bunny’, secured seven awards out of nine nominations.

The show set a new record as the most decorated Super Bowl halftime performance in Emmy history, surpassing the previous record held by Lady Gaga’s 2017 performance. The wins included Outstanding Variety Special (Live), as well as awards for music direction, choreography, sound mixing, lighting design, technical direction/camerawork, and directing.

Executive producer Jay-Z also earned an Emmy for his work on the production. Other notable technical winners included Brazilian music director Miguel Gandelman, who won for Outstanding Music Direction. The halftime show, which featured guests such as Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin, was noted for its cultural emphasis on Latin American identity.
