Bad Homburg villa linked to OneCoin fraud and Quandt family
A luxury villa in Bad Homburg, Germany, has become a focal point for investigations linking the OneCoin cryptocurrency fraud to high-profile real estate. The property was reportedly acquired in 2017 by Björn S., the husband of fugitive Ruja Ignatova, who is known as the ‘crypto queen’.
Investigations suggest the purchase may have been funded by money from the OneCoin system, with a Hong Kong-based company linked to the scheme allegedly transferring the funds. The Darmstadt public prosecutor's office has accused Björn S. of money laundering in connection with the complex, though he remains under the presumption of innocence.
The estate also carries a historical connection to the Quandt family, one of Germany’s most prominent industrial dynasties. The property’s history is marked by significant wealth and personal tragedies, including the deaths of Inge Quandt and her husband Hans-Hilman von Halem in 1978, as well as the family's complex ties to the Nazi era.
