Bad Kissingen district updates waste disposal regulations
The Bad Kissingen municipal enterprise is implementing changes to waste management services. Starting in November, residents can once again deliver bulky waste to the Wirmsthal waste management center free of charge. To manage site traffic, this service will require a pre-arranged appointment. This change aims to provide more flexibility for residents facing short-term disposal needs, such as moving, compared to the current six-to-eight-week lead time required for home collection.
Additionally, the district council has approved an adjustment to waste disposal fees effective January 1, 2027. Costs for standard services, such as a 60-liter residual waste bin, will increase due to rising personnel, material, fuel, and toll costs. The municipality also noted that higher CO2 pricing for waste incineration, mandated by the German Fuel Emissions Trading Act, is a contributing factor to the price adjustment. The enterprise operates on a cost-recovery basis to ensure reliable local service.
