Bad Kissingen expands childcare and implements climate-resilient urban redesign

Bad Kissingen is implementing several infrastructure projects aimed at improving childcare availability and climate resilience. The city has officially opened the Theresien-Kita, a new facility providing 173 childcare places, including nursery, kindergarten, and after-school care. The project was a collaborative effort involving the Theresienspitalstiftung Bad Kissingen, the Catholic Church Foundation Herz Jesu, and the city, which contributed 3.1 million euros to the construction.

Simultaneously, urban redesign work has begun in Albertshausen between the local kindergarten and the cemetery. As part of a climate protection program, the project involves unsealing paved surfaces, planting new trees, and improving rainwater infiltration to increase climate resilience. The construction, which includes road narrowing and new parking spaces, is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, with final planting scheduled for early 2027.
