Bad Salzungen Water Association begins sewage connection project in Schleid

The Wasser und Abwasser-Verband Bad Salzungen (WVS) is scheduled to begin construction on October 26, 2026, to connect the municipality of Schleid to a central sewage treatment plant. The project involves the installation of a connection collector in the city of Geisa, spanning approximately 1.14 kilometers from Bahnhofstraße past the Stadtpark to Schleider Straße.

Additional work includes laying new sewage and rainwater channels at the Staatliche Regelschule Rhön-Ulstertal. This includes 187 meters of sewage pipe and 203 meters of rainwater pipe, with rainwater being diverted to the Ulster river. The construction, managed by Wolf Bauunternehmen and planned by TTB Werra, is expected to be completed by November 2027.

During construction, certain areas will be fully closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. While access to the kindergarten and school bus services will remain unaffected, commuters and students are advised to use alternative routes through the town and Schleider Straße to reach the school.
