Badalona Mayor vows legal eviction of building squatters

Xavier García Albiol, the mayor of Badalona, has confronted individuals occupying a building in the La Salut neighborhood. The mayor stated that the premises are in poor condition and cause constant conflict with local residents.

During a recorded dispute, Albiol announced that he intends to close the premises and evict the occupants through legal administrative procedures. He criticized current laws and the central government, claiming that the current legal framework provides more protection to squatters than to property owners. He noted that the administrative process to close the site is expected to take several months.
