Badalona seeks to strengthen economic ties with China

During the closing of the II China-Spain Mayors Dialogue in Yantai, the Mayor of Badalona, Xavier Garcia Albiol, advocated for strengthening economic and business ties with China to foster new investment and cooperation opportunities.

Albiol highlighted the Badalona Sud industrial park as a primary example of existing economic integration, noting it is currently the second-largest concentration of Chinese companies in Spain, hosting over 300 enterprises. He emphasized that the city is not starting from scratch but is in a privileged position to deepen these connections and facilitate new business relationships between the two nations. The mayor also identified artificial intelligence as a key area for future technological and urban management cooperation.
