Badalona sets new Guinness World Record for basketball KO tournament

Badalona has set a new Guinness World Record for the largest basketball KO tournament. The event, held at the President Tarradellas square as part of the Supercopa Endesa festivities, successfully gathered 782 participants, surpassing the previous record of 711.

The tournament was organized by the Badalona City Council and the ACB, in collaboration with Endesa. The competition followed a direct elimination format where players attempted consecutive shots until only one winner remained. Josep Perich was declared the absolute winner of the historic edition, receiving a double pass to the 2027 Copa del Rey in Valencia, including travel and accommodation.

Local authorities and basketball figures, including Mayor Xavier García Albiol and ACB President Antonio Martín, attended the event to support the initiative.
