Baden-Württemberg wage and employment report 2025

The 2025 wage report for Baden-Württemberg reveals significant regional disparities in earnings. Stuttgart leads the state with a median monthly gross wage of 5,551 euros, while the Ortenaukreis district records the lowest at 4,029 euros. The average gross monthly wage for the entire state is 4,546 euros, representing a 4.4 percent increase from the previous year.

While Baden-Württemberg shows growth, its 4.36 percent increase trails behind states like Saxony-Anhalt, Berlin, and Brandenburg, which saw median wage growth exceeding 6.2 percent. Economic pressures in the automotive and supplier industries are noted as potential risks to job stability.

Regarding marginal employment, there were approximately 1.24 million minijobs in Baden-Württemberg as of mid-2025. Women represent 56 percent of these roles, rising to 59.5 percent for those employed exclusively in minijobs. The retail and hospitality sectors are the primary employers, collectively accounting for nearly one-third of all minijobs in the region.
