Badger Invitational: Southern Mississippi wins as Wisconsin and WKU tie for third

The 2026 Badger Invitational men's golf tournament concluded at the University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, Wisconsin, with Southern Mississippi securing the individual win at 23-under par. South Dakota State finished in second place at 17-under par.

Both the Wisconsin Badgers and Western Kentucky University tied for third place, finishing the tournament at nine-under par. For the Badgers, freshman Joseph Gutierrez led the team with a tie for 10th place at three-under par, including a career-best 67 in the opening round. Other notable performances for Wisconsin included Cody Guetzke, Jason Shwartz, and Drew Sacia, who all tied for 23rd.

Western Kentucky's performance was highlighted by freshman Colton Woosley, who finished in third place individually with an 8-under total. Sophomore Will Easterlin tied for 13th place at 2-under par. Head coach Austin King noted the team's competitive finish and strong play heading into their next event.
