Bado Zaki appointed coach of Jordan national football team

The Jordan Football Association has officially appointed Moroccan coach Bado Zaki to lead the Jordan national football team. Zaki, 67, has signed a one-year contract with the primary objective of preparing the team for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, which will be hosted in Saudi Arabia.

Zaki faces several immediate challenges, including maintaining the team's recent competitive gains following their performance in the 2026 World Cup. Key tactical priorities include addressing defensive set-piece vulnerabilities, improving goalkeeping, and managing the squad's roster following the absence of key players like Yazan Al-Naimat due to injury.
