Badolato to host Southern Italian theatrical residency summit

From October 1 to 4, Badolato, Calabria, will host the “Ve. De. Re. - Vetrina Delle Residenze,” a showcase of results from theatrical residency programs in the region. The event is part of the activities organized by CReA (Centro di Residenza della Calabria), a project by Compagnia Teatro del Carro and Dracma, supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Calabria Region.

Alongside the showcase, a meeting titled “Residenze al Sud” will take place from October 2 to 4. This gathering aims to bring together theatrical residencies from Southern Italy to discuss artistic sustainability, relationships with local territories and public administrations, and the creation of a shared network. The discussions will address challenges such as varying access to resources, heterogeneous cultural infrastructures, and different regional funding models to foster better collaboration among Southern Italian organizations.
